ABEVA reported on the December 13, 2024 death of Eric Jonckheere, the leader of the Belgian Association of Asbestos Victims: ABEVA. Having lost his parents to asbestos cancer, Eric became an ardent campaigner at home and abroad for the rights of the injured and a powerful figure in the global network of ban asbestos activists. The subsequent asbestos deaths of two of his four brothers reinvigorated his efforts. Announcing the death of its President, ABEVA spokesperson Marc Molitor confirmed that its work will continue. Eric Jonckheere has taken his last breath but the fight of asbestos victims continues.
